Zalmy co-founded Village Synagogue in March 2016 with the dream to create the ultimate Jewish experience for millenials. Born in Worcester, Mass and raised in the city of angels, Zalmy received his Rabbinical ordination in Los Angeles in 2008. Dedicated to strengthening Jewish identity and enhancing Jewish life, Zalmy has led a wide range of Jewish experiences including Jewish Holidays in Goa, India, summer camps in Ukraine, and educational programs in Johannesburg, SA.

As a father of four, Zalmy understands the need for progressive Jewish experiences for our youth, and believes it plays a key role in ensuring a passionate, involved Jewish future.

Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia to a family dedicated to Jewish community, Chana began her involvement in Jewish education and outreach at an early age.

Passionate about providing high standards for after school Jewish education, Chana directed Hebrew Schools in New Jersey and New York City before she founded Village Hebrew in Los Angeles in March, 2016. 

Chana lead’s the team that creates spectacular programming at the Village, head’s Village Hebrew and is the founder of Chana’s Challah. 

Chana is well known for her freshly baked challah on Friday and Shabbat dinners in her home. Chana lives in WeHo with her husband Zalmy and their four children.
